It is taken from Mark 5:35-36
- While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue's house who said, "Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?" As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid; only believe."
This is the story of Jairus who pleaded to Jesus to heal his dying daughter. Along the way Jesus was delayed by the woman with the issue of blood and seemingly this detour had resulted in Jesus not being on time. Jairus' daughter did not make it - she died, as was reported. The despair, disappointment and anguish Jairus must have felt at that time must be overwhelming.
Have you ever felt this way before? A situation in your life that just smelt of death, deadness in it - it could be a relationship, the ministry, your spiritual life, prayer life, a financial weight, an aspiration or dream that evaporated, a business deal that was lost, etc etc and Jesus, seemingly not on time!
One of the most common put downs - offered by others or even a self-belief - has got to be "Your 'situation' is dead, Why trouble Jesus any further?"
A position of death or deadness has often caused us to give up and to feel disappointed, discouraged and defeated. Many of us have such moments but today I like to encourage you with the words of our Lord, "Do not be afraid, only believe" . Death or deadness in any situation can come to life again in and through our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember - dry bones shall live again (Ezekiel 37).
We must dare believe and not be afraid. He is always on time and does all things beautiful in His time.

mei, ting, jun n i were at the 4th floor of the library poring over piles of books for our bgs project.. then during one of our tiny breaks mei tried to whisper sth to jun across the table across me (we each took one side) and she covered her face with a book cos it was about me!
so i reached out and tugged at the book and refused to let go.
when i finally did (out of sheer exhaustion of holding on :P) mei was already giggling/ snickering away. jun was breaking out in amused laughter across the table and i was trying my bestest to contain mine. (by the way we WERE in the library so if there was any laughing to be done, it had to be noiseless.)
so then the giggling turned into peals of controlled laughter (we sounded rather breathless cos we couldn't exactly laugh properly) and mei was looking as if she was gonna cry from all the laughing and holding her tummy cos she laughed so much. jun n i were just laughing and laughing. jun was laughing at mei, i dunno wad i was laughing at! and 3 of us jus sat there and laughed away for about 20min?!
it was nuts, but the craziest and best laugh i've had in ages. better still, i didn't know what i was laughing about, but i just couldn't stop laughing! the 3 of us were mad. seriously. and ting jus looked on, joining us from time to time. the most sane of the lot. :)
i think our mtgs are rather fun eh.

the funniest thing that happened today:
joe very nicely gave out tau sa piah (which was actually ma ti su as verified by jun n kai.)
*i realised i like to use short forms of my friends' names in uni.. harhar)*
to practically the whole class, and he gave me the last one to share with jun.
but seeing how lacking i was in arm power i turned to kai who was beside me and he very kindly agreed to tear open the plastic packet. so then i left the packet with him and happily turned back to jun to continue our convo. before i knew it there was a relatively loud 'POM!' and next thing i saw was all the crumbs 'splattered' on kai's tee n berms and him with a rather shocked look on his face. haha!
heh. half felt bad cos it was my packet, and the other half was super amused. :P
so well.
kai initially tried to pick up all the crumbs with a tissue but obviously it wasn't working, so isa suggested he just sweep everything onto the floor. oho. considerate students we are. so well, being the nice soul he is, he emptied the crumbs onto the floor behind the pillar near the window. with all of us trying our bestest not to laugh behind of course :P
so now im in school... reading up for bgs then gonna have dinner w jun n mich.. grooooowl.

so anw. on this particular day....
we walked in at least 10min late, due to the long and rather confusing walk we took (oh yes i got niaoed about my contacts being blur cos i totally had no sense of direction coming from the opposite side..), rushing to the toilet and jun buying her stuff..
the sight that greeted our eyes wasn't a nice one.
some long haired, extremely pale looking girl appeared on the screen, with a close up of her rather freaky looking eye. that was all i saw cos i immediately covered my face with my file and began squealing in protest. yikes.
next thing i knew chow n ming had joined me (not in squealing or covering their faces) but in the more 'manly' way of avoiding scary scenes- they promptly turned back around and faced the wall. tng, i had no idea what he was doing. half looking, probably? which left su n jun looking, i mean watching, the screen with nary a hint of fear on their faces. after awhile ming piped up, 'is the scary part over yet?' and tng answered with a rather relieved yes. haha! then tng exclaimed 'wah, at least now i know im not the only wimp around eh!'
haha.... so i was the only scared gal among my frens?? think the other patrons must have been smirking at us.
then we departed and got lost on our way back to sch. fantastic. think ming was so relieved we gals weren't screaming at him for his lack of geographical awareness. chow n tng were absolutely flabbergasted.
i looooooove my ctgrp la. bunch of doofus-es. :)

and so i shall post 2 songs here that are in my mind now:
My Tribute
how can I say thanks
for the things You have done for me
things so undeserved
that You gave
to prove Your love for me
the voices of a million angels
could not express my gratitude
all that I am
and ever hope to be
I owe it all to Thee
to God be the glory
to God be the glory
to God be the glory
for the things He has done
with His blood He has saved me
with His power He has raised me
to God be the glory
for the things He has done
just let me live my life
let it be pleasing, Lord, to Thee
and should I gain any praise
let it go to Calvary
with His blood He has saved me
with His power He has raised me
to God be the glory
for the things He has done
it's an old song and may even seem draggy to the youth of today but it expresses my feelings all the same. a beautiful song.
Your Love is Amazing
Your love is amazing
steady and unchanging
Your love is a mountain firm beneath my feet
Your love is a mystery
of how You gently lift me
when I am surrounded Your love carries me
Your love is surprising
I can feel it rising
all the joy's that growing deep inside of me
and everytime I see You
all Your goodness shines through
I can feel this God song rising up in me
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Your love makes me sing...
He's there for me no matter how far i run... In the end God will always find me. To the ends of the earth, the depths of the seas...
i've been trying, running too long on my own, it's time to turn back to Daddy.
Thank You for Your mercy, Lord! :)
and oh yes i'm so free now cos it's term break!!! for a week, but better than none.
finally finished princess hours - oh yes i planted myself in front of the tv the whole of yesterday after i got home. rather extreme emotions yesterday. for the later part of the morning and early afternoon i was so happy and thankful i thought i was gonna burst from joy. then the better part of the evening was spent wiping tears away. hahaha. im nuts man. but i missed a few bits in front cos dee and ma watched when i was studying. later!! haha. break is coming along wonderfully. :)
finished reading the curious incident of the dog in the night-time - its a-ok la. always wanted to read it when it came out back in jc but never had the chance to. simple english, but you marvel at the boy's ability to remember EVERYTHING. really, his mind is like a computer or memory card or sth. now i'm jus worried that in the 2 weeks it was with me i caused the quality of the book to deteriorate when gerald specifically asked me to take care of his book. yikes.
so that was yesterday. plus the 2hr (i think) convo i had with the cuz talking about vroooooom and many more things under the dazzling sun.
today:
AS homework
AS essay (start reading and think of how to do critical analysis :/)
earlier part of princess hours!
do QT.
can't believe i'm so free i'm listing all this down! man. yay it's 12. got lotsa time. i'm a happy girl.

MAF was splendid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
21/25 of 68 came back.. yay guys you rock. miss my class so much la. it's just not the same.
formed a circle with our arms on each others' shoulders, screaming away at the cheers we still remember.. belting out hc songs (all chinese nonetheless) we so fondly recalled.. booing the av pple with they changed slides too early cos obviously some of us weren't that good with the chinese songs. haha. taking photos, stupid guys crushing all of us girls in the front.. wearing the hc uni.. wahaha we certainly stood out. singing 3 birthday songs at the top of our lungs so everyone around turned to stare.. enthusiastically taking part in the mass dances! ohmyword i've never seen us be so on about the mass dances. we did all 6!!!! the guys who used to pon dance pracs during orientation followed every single step and stuck it out till the end! whoooa. it was as if orientation was just yesterday. how 2 years pass so fast..
i want photos!!!!! seekie! zy!
